Frustration and smashing that wall

Tuesday 7th Feb

Did a standard 3K run as well about 20mins weights. Decided today that I need to up the distance. Soon too!

Thursday 9th Feb

Got up extra early and thought, stuff the weights, run, run and run some more, so determined to run 6 or 7K, I headed out. Managed a very nice 7.1K, but had to stop about 4 times. Getting there.

Saturday 11th Feb

Headed to the gym (weather was peeing down, I'm not daft!) and fully intended to do 7.5K. Started well, perhaps a little too fast. Did 3K in 20mins, usual for me. But then got to 5K by 32mins, a little off pace, then my right calf started to twinge a bit. I had been taking my sachets of Totum Sport, which has really been helping with my stamina, and recovery. If it works for me, I am sure it can help you too, in any form of sport.

I had to stop at 36mins, after 5.5K. I was seriously annoyed with myself, which seems a little odd, but when I was so determined to do a decent distance, one little thing messed it all up. Tomorrow I will do better!

Sunday 12th Feb

I woke up about 6. The annoying calf issue from yesterday was still playing on my mind. The gym didn't open till 8, so I had a cup of tea, some Totum Sport, and I was all set. (still raining, boo!)

Started well on my run (gym was deserted, music playlist included the new Rag N Bone man album, that helped!) Got to 3K in 19mins, got to 5K in 30mins, and got to 6K in 45mins. I decided that 7.5K was going to be a breeze. So carried on to exactly 8K (a little OCD, hey ho!) Did that in 56mins. If I hadn't slowed down 3 times, I reckon 53mins could have been achievable.

SO HAPPY, so glad, apologies to my wife who had to hear me wingeing all Saturday evening!

HAPPY RUNNING EVERYONE

Tim
