Pop idol Karaoke competition
This a karaoke competition that anyone can enter there is a prize fund of £1000 that has been hosted for the competition by tavistock leisure. There will be £700 for 1st place £200 for 2nd place and £100 for 3rd place. The competition will be running every Wednesday night at the Alexandra at 8pm for 12 weeks. There will be a winner and runner up from each heat going through to the grand final to be held in the function suit of the Alexandra on Wednesday 31st march 2010. There will also be normal karaoke on aswell every Wednesday so if anyone just fancies a night out and a bit of a sing song feel free to join in the fun.

Model Railway Exhibition
Perth Green Model Railway Club is holding its annual Model Railway Exhibition at Perth Green Community Association, Inverness Road, Jarrow.
Over the weekend 20th & 21st March with exhibits from all over the country on view in many scales and sizes.
The Exhibition is open on Saturday 10 am till 5pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm with exhibits to suit beginners and experienced modellers alike.
For those starting out in the hobby there will much to encourage and inspire them with an opportunity to buy models and equipment from a varied selection of traders. Refreshments will be available at a modest cost all weekend and parking is free.
Admission costs are as follows: Adults £4.00, Senior citizens £3.00 and children aged 5 to 16 £1.50. Children under 5 are free.
