Bring a Pound to Work Day
On Thursday 22nd May 2008 we’re holding our annual ‘Bring a Pound to Work Day’ and this year all the money raised will be given to ‘The Grace House Hospice Appeal’ here in Sunderland. ‘Grace House’ will be named after 9 year old Grace Jones from High Barnes who, herself, is one of over 1200 children in The North East who are not expected to reach adulthood and will provide a home from home for very sick children, support for their siblings and parents, respite and terminal care.
This year is the final ‘BIG PUSH’ as they have almost reached their target. Land has been allocated as part of the development of Castletown with easy access to the A1231, the A1 and the A19 and with your help, building will start in the near future.
We are dedicating an entire day to this annual event, and our teams of “collectors” will be out and about across Wearside all day. All we want you to do is register your workplace by filling in the form below and clicking on SEND. We will then send you a pack in the post, including a poster to put up to remind everyone to bring in a £ coin on the day. On 22nd May we will visit you wherever it is you work and collect the pound coins that you have collected off the participating people you work with; it’s that easy.
So PLEASE register now. If everyone donates just £1, imagine how much quicker ‘Grace House’ can be built.
