From beautiful beaches and countryside, to theatres, museums and galleries, there's plenty to see and do in Sunderland. Many of the city's attractions are free and all offer a great family day out, packed with fun.
Sunderland is a welcoming, bustling city set right on the coast and at the mouth of the River Wear. It boasts wide sandy beaches and acres of relaxing and invigorating green spaces. Culturally its offer includes Sunderland Empire Theatre, National Glass Centre and Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, while its underground music scene is considered one of the most vibrant in the UK.

This hands on session for under 5s and their families or carers takes place each week in the Children's Gallery. Sessions include play-time in the gallery, stories and songs, crafts, juice and healthy fruit.
Monday, January 30, 2017 to Saturday, February 4, 2017. West End and Broadway leading lady Kerry Ellis, best known for playing Elphaba in the West End and Broadway productions of Wicked, will guest star as Alice in select venues including Sunderland!
