Donating an Easter egg to help young children on Wearside

Easter egg 2016 Galleries donation6

We want your Easter eggs, to help disadvantaged children on Wearside crack a smile.

People in Sunderland are being urged to get some extra eggs and donate them.

It's as some children miss out on the holiday due to being in hospital, or from a disadvantaged background.

Julie Judson the Child and Family Worker for the Salvation Army in Sunderland spoke about the difference it makes:

As Wearside supermarkets begin to bulge with chocolate eggs.

We're urging people to put some more in their basket, to donate to those going without as part of our annual Easter Egg Appeal.

We're working with the Salvation Army to bring some festive joy to those less fortunate this Easter.

Julie Judson tells us why it helps to make a small gesture of donating:

You can donate and drop off your eggs at the Galleries in Washington or here at the Sun FM  reception.
