Sunderland businessman named after Wearmouth bridge tragedy

A man who died after falling from the Wearmouth Bridge has been named by the coroner.
They've confirmed that it is that of Sunderland businessman John Charles McIvor known as locally Joe, of Joe McIvor Motors.
Emergency services were called to the scene yesterday afternoon, with the Great North Air Ambulance taking Mr McIvor to hospital by air.
He sadly later died at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
A post mortem is to take place on Monday with an inquest into his death to open next week.
