Hole in South Shields partially closes road

A road in South Shields is partially blocked after a hole appeared.

A part of Coston Drive is closed near to the Morrisons store.

The hole has developed early last night (Sunday evening).

Earlier reports of a 3ft sinkhole were seemingly over estimated.

South Tyneside Council are dealing with the incident with emergency repairs taking place.

Northumbria Water are looking into it.
