Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital with serious injuries

At around 9.55am yesterday morning, police received a report of a collision in South Shields.

Police attended the scene after a van and motorcycle had collided along the Coast Road in South Shields.

The driver of the motorcycle has been airlifted to hospital with what is believed to be serious but not life threatening injuries.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 411 12/08/17.
