Triathalon celebrates it's 12th year on Wearside

Sunderland has seen some of the country's best athletes compete in our city, for the 12th Sun City Tri.

The triathlon, which has been running since 2005, will see some of the UK's best athletes take to the streets and water on Wearside.

From Seaburn beach, the triathlon saw competitors run into the North Sea and swim half a mile before getting on the bikes.

Before a 5k run to Roker Park and back.
