Volunteers needed to help families of inmates

A charity in our region is seeking new volunteers to help support families and children of prisoners.

NEPACS is giving anyone interested in volunteering the chance to come along to their volunteer open day next Thursday.

It is being held at HMP Durham visitors' centre and people will hear about the different opportunities.

Helen Attewell, NEPACS chief executive, tells Sun FM what help you can give:

As well as the open day next Thursday (7th December) between 11am and midday, there's also another chance to take part on the Saturday (9th December) between 10am and 11am at the visitors centre of HMP Durham in Durham City.
