Sunderland's Park Lane has received a festive facelift this year as it hosted a Christmas Market.

For the past five weekends, stalls have been set up to celebrate the season.

Organised by the Sunderland Business Improvement District, it comes to a close at 5pm today.

Sharon Appleby, Head of Business Operations at Sunderland BID, said:

"Christmas isn't Christmas without a traditional market and we want to bring Sunderland shoppers something to really get excited about"

"We plan on opening our dedicated Christmas Market every weekend from the end of November, which we hope will become a popular attraction with visitors. We want to create the perfect Christmas market shopping experience and help create a buzz around one of the most exciting times of the year."

Sunderland BID is now keen to hear from any retailers, crafts people or business owners who would be interested in taking a stall.
