Hundreds to brave the freezing water on Wearside

Today - hundreds of people will brave the water off the Wearside coast.

It's the 43rd Boxing Day Dip, the annual event organised by the Sunderland Lions Club.

Due to the Seaburn Centre closing, it's been relocated to outside the Marriott on Seaburn beach

There are also Boxing Day dips at Seaham Marina, where you register from 10:30am and in South Shields, where you can register from 11am at the Dunes.

The dip there will start at 12 noon at Little Haven Beach.
