Hetton hit-and-run leaves 9 year old boy injured

A hunt is underway for a hit-and-run driver in Hetton.

Police are appealing for information after an 8 year old boy was knocked over at about quarter to 6 on Friday evening. (February 2nd).

The boy suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision on Mardale Street in Moorsley.

The vehicle failed to stop and drove off in the direction of North Road.

The details of the vehicle involved are not known and police are appealing for the public’s help.

Any witnesses, or anyone with information is asked to contact, Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 884 020218.
