Fears for the future of Nissan jobs post Brexit
The Prime Minister met with a delegation from Japan, including representatives from Sunderland Nissan, at 10 Downing Street yesterday.
It's amid fears over job security post-Brexit, with the car manufacturer employing 7 thousand at the Washington plant and many more in the supply chain.
The country's ambassador to the UK Koji Tsuruoka, warned trade needs to be as free as possible, saying:
"If there's no profitability of continuing operations in the UK, no private company can continue operations".
Koji Tsuruoka went on to speak of how Japanese firms are looking for certainties before making decisions over their UK operations.
