NHS worker sacrifices home comforts to help patients
Public services have been stretched to their maximum this week as Storm Emma batters the UK.
More heavy snow has fallen across the North East, with an amber alert still in place.
Conditions have made travelling on the region's roads difficult and has forced health workers to work long shifts and in some cases stay close to work.
Laith Hasan, a radiographer at Sunderland Royal Hospital, stayed away from home over night so he could help patients:
He continued to make a difference in the city after working a night shift at the hospital.
