Northumbria Police have confirmed that the A690 remains closed WESTBOUND ONLY.

Durham Road will be shut between the A19 and A182, heading towards Durham City.

The police and Sunderland City Council are closing the road due to current severe weather conditions.

Access will be maintained for residents up to Hangmans Lane.

With diversions via A19, A183 and A182.
