Apprenticeship open event in Pallion

(Updated 9:06am 6th March 2018)

Companies across the country are tapping into the pool of young new talent.

It's as they mark National Apprenticeship Week, with firms getting involved in the North East.

Sunderland Springboard's holding an event.

Suzanne Jovanovic, their employment engagement officer, tells us the aims of their event today.

For many young people on Wearside it is seen as a stepping stone into a new career path.

Suzanne says it's a great way for local firms to grown their own talent pool of future employees.

Employment engagement officer, Suzanne also says it's a great alternative for those who are not considering the further education route to employment.

The theme for the #NAW2018 is ‘Apprenticeships Work’. Showcasing how apprenticeships work:

  • for individuals
  • for employers
  • for the community
  • for the wider economy

Search the Government's online map to find more information about National Apprenticeship Week events happening near you.
