Steps to stop excessive ticket charges

Sharon Hodgson MP in her office

8:42am 7th March 2018
(Updated 8:43am 7th March 2018)

It's something Washington and Sunderland West MP Sharon Hodgson has campaigned for with her "Put Fans First" campaign.

Now The Advertising Standards Authority says it is clamping down on secondary ticketing providers, being able to add on fees and charges at the end of a booking process.

After formal investigations, it's now calling on the 4 main operators - StubHub UK, Viagogo AG, Seatwave and GET ME IN! - to be clearer with consumers.

The Advertising Standards Authority found they were not clear about additional fees and charges added at the end of the booking process.

The rules are to try to combat a rising number of complaints from fans feeling exploited.
