Hundreds of rare film and music posters are expected to fetch more than £250,000 when they go up for auction next month.

The prize lot is a 1977 Star Wars US teaser poster, which is predicted to sell for between £12,000 and £18,000.

Others include a UK poster for Goldfinger (1964) expected to fetch £4,000 to £6,000, and one for The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night (1964) which could sell for up to £3,000.

A rare poster from Dracula AD 1972 is expected to go for up to £8,000.

A Japanese poster for Jaws (1975), a French poster for Planet Of The Apes (1968) and a limited-edition poster for Conan The Barbarian (1982) is also for grabs.

The 400 posters are being sold by Prop Store, which has offices in London and Los Angeles and sells film and TV memorabilia.

There will be a free preview exhibition from 22 to 28 June at the Odeon BFI IMAX in London.

The auction will be on 28 June at the same venue.

It will also be live streamed for fans who cannot be there on the day.

Chief executive Stephen Lane said: "After four successful Entertainment Memorabilia live auctions, we're always looking for exciting new things to bring to collectors and our Cinema Poster Live Auction feels very much connected to our roots.

"We live and breathe movies - to us cinema history is something you can reach out and touch - so original poster art is as much a part of that as props and other memorabilia.

"In short, we're thrilled to be working in this new market, and hope it will become a regular event."
