North East boxer Scott Westgarth has died aged 31 - apparently from injuries sustained in a win on Saturday.

The light heavyweight from Newcastle was taken to hospital following a points victory over Dec Spelman in Doncaster - having appeared to be in pain during post-fight interviews.

Spelman from Scunthorpe says he's "heartbroken".

The promoter for the match, Stefy Bull, has tweeted "it's been the hardest few days" he's had to endure - and sent his thoughts to Westgarth's family.
